One of the reasons I decided to become a psychologist was because I wanted to add more diverse voices to the field of psychology and to be able to address mental health concerns in African American and diverse families. For several years, I have been writing a blog on mental health and parenting. These posts serve as an avenue to reduce negative perceptions about therapy and to provide tips on recognizing mental health difficulties.
